BRISBANE'S TRUCK OF THE SHOW ON DISPLAY
Following on from its success in being judged the 2010 International Truck of the Year, Scania’s R730 has just been named 2011 Truck of the Show at the recent Brisbane Truck Show.
The Scania R730 has a unique combination of performance, transport efficiency, fuel economy, durability and driver appeal. With 3500 Nm and 730 hp, Scania’s new flagship V8 has the highest torque and power ratings of any truck engine.
Scania V8 trucks are very popular in the high-output end of the truck market, globally accounting for more than half of the total sales volume around 600 hp and above. With four power ratings to choose from, Scania's demanding V8 customers now have a wide choice that nobody can match.
A MASSIVE LAUNCH
One of the most anticipated exhibitions will be the brand new Cat trucks, which are being launched across Australia.
After more than 80 years as a leading equipment supplier, Caterpillar are branching into the truck market with their brand new series of long-haul trucks. These ground breaking new on-highway trucks, in particular the CT630 and CT610 models will be on display at the 2011 Perth Truck and Trailer Show.
Anyone involved in the trucking industry will be eagerly awaiting their first viewing of the newest truck to hit the market. The CT630 is Cat’s first Class 8 long-haul truck. A roomier, more functional interior, industry-leading aerodynamics and fuel efficiency come standard, as does a Diamond Logic electrical system and the power of a Cat 15-Litre, 550-hp, 6-cylinder engine with cruise control.
The CT610 is the first Class 8 regional-haul truck. Smart, weight-saving construction lets you carry more, while the shortest BBC in its vehicle class makes it easy to maneuver on busy city streets. A Cat 13-Litre engine and modern aerodynamics provide top-notch fuel efficiency that keeps you environmentally friendly.
The trucks, which were developed as part of a joint venture between Navistar and Caterpillar, are assembled in Australia.
